About Dr. Diane Summers

Dr. Diane Summers is a retired physician, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She resides in Gilbert with her husband, Col. John W. Summers, Ret (USAR).  They have three children and one granddaughter.

Educational Background:

  •  Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology - Oakwood University
  •  Masters of Public Health - University of South Carolina
  •  Doctor of Medicine - Meharry Medical College
  •  Postgraduate Residency Training (Pathology) - Howard University

Career History:

  •  Seven years in Laboratory Medicine as Medical Laboratory Technologist working in various hospitals and laboratories to include the American Red Cross
  •  Twenty-two years practicing medicine as a  civilian physician for The Department of Defense at Fort Jackson

Political Experience:

  • 2002 - 2010 School Board Trustee for Lexington School District 1
